Her experience

An employment law lawyer, Marie-Claude Barette assists company managers and managers in setting up solid, human organizational structures that comply with current standards. She offers legal advice focused on conflict prevention, internal policy writing, and team training.

After completing her law degree at the University of Montreal, Marie-Claude first worked in public relations before pursuing studies in language and writing, in particular at the University of California, Berkeley, and at the University of Sherbrooke. At the same time, she worked as a journalist for the daily La Voix de l'Est and as editor-in-chief of the student newspaper Le Collective, while offering editorial services to SMEs across Quebec.

Admitted to the Bar in 2017, she then spent four years working with a grievance and dispute arbitrator, participating in more than 200 hearings and collaborating in the drafting of arbitration awards and mediation agreements. She continued her career as a senior lawyer and legal advisor for an association representing managers of early childhood centers in Quebec, where she built a local legal service focused on strategic support, the negotiation of employment contracts, the negotiation of employment contracts, the development of governance practices, and workplace training.

Her role

Within the YULEX team, Marie-Claude is recognized for her ability to listen and her ability to quickly identify the human issues at the heart of professional relationships and to propose concrete and adapted solutions. It supports employers in managing conflicts, while guiding them towards better organizational health through the implementation of clear, structured and sustainable policies.
