Maude Fréchette is an attorney and cofounder of YULEX. For nearly 25 years, she has been supporting SMEs and entrepreneurs in their growth and expansion both in Québec and abroad.  

The saying “law leads to everything” perfectly sums up why she turned to law: it allows her to advise SMEs, develop business strategies, teach, coach entrepreneurs, and satisfy her thirst for knowledge.  

After studying business law and international law, she was admitted to the Barreau du Québec (2003). Following her bar internship at a law firm in Senegal, she worked in a litigation department and then at firms specializing in business law. In 2015, she cofounded YULEX, a firm aligned with her values and entrepreneurial vision. Under her leadership, the firm strives to makes a difference by prioritizing innovation, both in its relationships with clients and in the interactions among its associates and partners.  

She is a true legal authority for entrepreneurs and their businesses and she is frequently invited as a speaker and lecturer by various organizations and associations. She was the recipient of the coveted “Lawyer of the year in Corporate Law Award” from the Young Bar Association of Montréal in 2009, the Young Leader in Action Award from the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Montréal in 2010, the award for the person who contributed most to the International Trade Accelerator Program (PAC), Québec Division, presented by Canada’s Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) in 2021, and was named by Women We Admire magazine as one of the “Top 50 Women Leaders of Montréal” in 2022 and 2024.
